There are no exclusive guidelines for the article, except for those rules that apply to any article. Generally, short articles and concise language are recommended. We prefer articles with a key 'message' that shed light e.g. on some aspect of a topic that has been rarely discussed, to those articles that are mere reports (newspapers are better in reporting than we are).
In fact, we prefer some format that also allows to easily comment on the writing (if there is anything to comment on) during the review process. This could be a PDF, but we would certainly prefer a Word format, since commenting is easier there. Since we are later copy pasting the article into our webpage anyways, there is no advantage in using tex formatting whatsoever.
